Swedish Massage

Macclesfield Swedish MassageSwedish Massage is a slow gentle massage using light to medium pressure to promote mind and body relaxation and an increased sense of well being. Massage strokes are applied in the direction of lymph flow resulting in general detoxification of the system.

It will alleviate pain, aid relaxation, reduce stress and enhance circulation. There is less focus on working out serious knots in muscle tissue. The lighter touch used will not push your limits of comfort.

Deep Tissue Massage uses firm pressure to release tight layers of muscle and tissue resulting from poor posture, overuse or injury.

It is effective in the treatment of chronic problems such as stiff neck, lower back stiffness and is beneficial in reducing pain following whiplash, a fall or injury. This is a vigorous technique using hands, fingertips, knuckles and even elbows. You may feel sore afterwards but deep relaxation will follow.

Connective Tissue Massage

Connective Tissue Massage is used to alleviate the pain, tightness and stiffness often associated with surgery and scarring. Various specialised massage techniques are used and some improvement is evident after the first treatment. It is particularly effective where a surgical scar is causing pain and limiting movement, for example after mastectomy.
